Shades of evening on Felicity's birthday

Celebrating my daughter's special day, and thanking God for His giving of her precious and brief life that has had such a profound effect on many people's lives.

Remembering my kindred friend & sister Pat with a thankful, indebted heart for her constant support and love every single day that I needed her so desperately. Thank You, dear Lord, for knitting our hearts so closely together.

Although the sorrow is still very heavy on her "anniversary" days...Jesus Christ has put a crown on my sad earthly loss with own His blessed peace, quietness and assurance of a sweet reunion one day.

"I have wrestled on towards Heaven,
'Gainst storm, and wind, and tide:
Now, like a weary traveller,
That leaneth on his guide,
Amid the shades of evening,
While sinks life's ling'ring sand,
I hail the glory dawning
From Immanuel's land."

Just saw this almost one year later! I was just speaking of Felicity today, as a matter of fact, remembering how profound her impact on my life. I look around at the pollution of this world and somehow could not wish that Felicity's life prolonged, exposing her to all that is here. Heaven is so much sweeter and purer, yes? Twenty-one years and I still think of her often! Love you, my dear, and praying for you these anniversary days. And looking with you to the Solid Rock.
