Dominic on Napoleon Dynamite
I would like to take the time to post something a friend of mine wrote concerning the movie Napoleon Dynamite. I just can't enough good things about that movie, and Dominic really struck home with this really pithy bit o' prose. I agree with him totally.
"It championed the unlovely and unloved, always making a point to show how ordinary people can do great things for each other. It showed all of the cool and fun things that the simple bond of friendship can bring and it made that the focus of the film. Some people would call that "nothing". I think its something great that ought to be emphasized more in today's pop culture of superficiality. NP dealt a blow to pop culture and stupid teenage movies by showing that you don't need the uber-cool clothes or looks to be cool or to have fun. And, it showed that you can make a teen movie without loads of profanity, sex, and cheesy cliches."

Dang Grant, I'm honored by the reference as a good friend. Thanks.
And Tara! I'm surprised to see you here :). Do you and Grant know each other somehow?

Yes, she's my sister! ;-) Unless you know something I don't, or something that I don't want to know. *lol*

Ohhh. *light-bulb goes on* That's right, I remember your sister now. When I saw "Tara" I thought that it was this other friend of mine. I'm all clear now :).

"...ordinary people can do great things for each other..."
That sounds wonderful. :) *adds another movie to her list of "Wants to See"*

Ha! Lance has plenty of comments AND compliments about this hilarious movie! His favorite part is when Napoleon's friend says, "I like her bangs". Of course, we still try to talk like Napoleon. Saying SWEET with the dumbest, most boring, uninterested face possible. Napoleon RULES!!! Sorry, I didn't have anything intelligent to say in my movie review!

Oh, don't even talk about it! I'm just delighted that you posted on my blog!! Heehee, I'm so tickled, not only that people actually read my blogs, but because you and Lance like Napoleon as well. ;-)
