Background Music
So, (depending on your connection speed), has the background sound loaded and begun to play? I have been experimenting with integrating background sounds and music into web pages. I had to research some before I could get it to work on more than one browser.
First of all, the easy "bgsound" tag works in Internet Explorer only, which is bad design, so I began to experiment with the "embed" tag.
This caused a whole slew of problems, mainly because I didn't have my MIME settings and plugins all installed, for my browsers. I can only hope my users have theirs installed, because if they don't it won't work. My consolation is the fact that it isn't critical. Just something fun. So if it does not work, it doesn't affect anything else.
I had a great deal of fun working on my background sound puzzle, and I hope it's working for you. So far, with a Quicktime plugin for the WAV format properly installed, the "embed" element works in Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, and Netscape.
The sound file is 389 KB, similar to a large digital photo. If it fails to load for you, make sure your plugins are configured properly. If that fails to work, tell me your browser model, along with your comments. Let me know if this thing is working!

That's a pretty song. :)
(Since I have to use and email address here I gave you an email address that I don't think works anymore.... since you know my "real" address, I hope you don't mind.)

Yes, that is a very nice song. What is the name of it, may I ask?

It's from the Harvest Home Suite written by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason. It's the last part of movement III or IV I think, and it's called "Barndance".

Abigail and I are dancing! Actually, she is sleeping at the moment. But when she wakes up and hears, she will dance with me, because that is the sort of song we have fun listening to together. :) It is playing perfectly in Crazy Browser today. In Netscape it hasn't worked at all for us, though.
*wanders off (in full assurance that you accomplished your mission in Rockdale this morning!) to research plugins*

I'm glad it's working in your browser Sarah! I have never heard of Crazy Browser, but I am glad my blog works on there too! Happy dancing! :-)
